Growing up, people thought my life was simple. Just church, home, and school—over and over again. From the outside, it looked triangular.
In fact, someone once said to me: “Your life is very triangular.”
But inside that triangle, God was shaping me. What looked small to others became the very space where He planted seeds of growth and breadth.
Church wasn’t just church. It was a training ground. I picked up priceless skills in languages and music: I learnt songs in Yoruba and Bini (many of which I still remember today). I learnt musical instruments—particularly the flute, which I can still play. I sang in choirs, played in the orchestra, and even learnt and taught American Sign Language. But more than the skills, the lessons that really stayed with me were discipline, teamwork, prayer, and the beauty of serving others. Those were not just activities—they are foundations that continue to shape how I live even now.
School wasn’t just school. Yes, I studied and excelled in my field, but I also learnt how to learn. I discovered how to express myself in writing, in speaking, and even in arts. Extracurricular activities gave me responsibilities that stretched me far beyond the classroom, preparing me for real life.
Home wasn’t just routine either. It was a hub of creativity. I crocheted table covers, chair covers, and even purses I sold to friends. I made beads, sewed clothes, baked, cooked, and even made hair accessories. And above all, I read. My little personal library became a doorway into worlds I might never physically visit.
So yes—my life looked triangular from the outside. But that triangle was no flat shape. In God’s hands, it became rich, layered, and multidimensional—like a prism scattering light into many colors of growth, discipline, and joy.
And here’s the truth I’ve come to see: sometimes what looks “narrow” from the outside is exactly where God does His deepest work. The dimensions of your life don’t define you—the God who fills those spaces does.
Does your life ever feel a little triangular too—simple on the surface, but fuller once you remember God is at work in it?
Because simplicity isn’t limitation—it’s often the very prism where God reveals hidden richness. And even a narrow path can still hold a wide life.
