“Jesus Wept”: Finding Comfort in Grief
“Jesus wept.” These two words in John 11:35 have carried me through some of the heaviest moments of my life—especially after losing my father. They remind me that even Jesus, knowing resurrection was moments away, paused to grieve. His tears weren’t weakness; they were love made visible. In my own season of mourning, I found comfort in His example and in the promise of the Holy Spirit to comfort us. Grief, I’ve come to realize, is not just heavy—it’s holy. And in our tears, we are never alone.
